What's on the page
The Market Dashboard consolidates the day's market state into one scroll. Sections, top to bottom:
- Index snapshot — Nifty 50, Sensex, Bank Nifty, Nifty IT, top sectoral indices
- Market breadth — advances, declines, ratio, new highs vs new lows
- Cap-segmented gainers/losers — top movers split by large-cap, mid-cap, small-cap
- Standout candidates — stocks where multiple signals are converging
- Sectoral performance — every sector's day, week, and month return
- FII/DII flows — provisional same-day institutional flows
It's not interactive analysis — it's a status report. Use it to orient yourself, then drill into specifics from the linked surfaces.
The 5-minute pre-market read
Run this sequence before the market opens:
- Index snapshot — did the global cues set up positive or negative? Compare against the previous close.
- Sectoral performance over the last week — which sectors have momentum into today?
- FII/DII flows for yesterday — did institutions buy or sell?
- Standout candidates — which stocks are entering today with signal convergence?
You don't act on this; you build context. The actual trade ideas come from the screener or the watchlist.
The 5-minute post-market read
Different sequence after market close:
- Index changes for today — what was the magnitude of the move?
- Breadth — was the move broad-based (most stocks moved with the index) or narrow (a few names dragged or lifted it)?
- Gainers/losers by cap — what led the move?
- FII/DII — were institutions buying into strength, selling into strength, or absorbing weakness?
- Heatmap (linked from dashboard) — visual confirmation of sector concentration
Again — context, not action. The watchlist tells you what you own; the dashboard tells you the environment you're operating in.
Standout candidates
The "standout candidates" section is the most actively-useful piece for stock-pickers. It surfaces stocks where multiple cross-signals are firing — strong delivery + volume spike + bullish stance + sector momentum, for example. These are not auto-buys; they're shortcuts to the screener-equivalent query you'd otherwise build manually.
