What the page controls
Settings → Notifications is the single source of truth for:
- Which alert channels are enabled (in-app, push, WhatsApp, Telegram)
- The filing materiality filter that determines which filings push to you
- Per-category preferences for filings (mute earnings, mute dividends, etc.)
- Quiet hours (no push between specified times)
Channels
By delivery channel, each can be independently enabled or disabled:
- In-app — the bell icon's badge in the navbar increments. Always on; no setting required.
- Push (mobile app required) — native push notifications. Requires registering at least one device via the app.
- WhatsApp (Pro) — filings push to your linked WhatsApp number. Requires phone-number verification at Settings → WhatsApp.
- Telegram — links to @AfterMarkets_Bot. Linked accounts get DMs for watched stocks.
Disable any channel without affecting the others. Some users keep push on for triggered price/signal alerts but route filings to WhatsApp only.
The filing materiality filter
The single most important control. Determines what counts as a "push-worthy" filing.
- Material only — only the highest-density signals push. Earnings, board meetings, large orders, regulatory actions, M&A. Lowest noise; fewest pushes per day.
- Material + context (default) — also includes contextually material filings. The recommended balance for most users.
- All filings — every announcement pushes. Overwhelming for most users; useful for analysts and Pro power-users.
This filter applies to push, WhatsApp, and Telegram. In-app notifications don't follow this filter — the bell badge always counts everything tagged as material.
Per-category mutes
A list of filing categories with toggles. Mute "Dividend" if you don't care about dividend announcements; mute "Insider Trading" if you don't track promoter activity. Categories you've muted don't push regardless of materiality.
This is layered on top of the materiality filter — first the materiality cuts, then the category mutes.
Quiet hours
Two time fields: quiet-hours start and end (in IST). During this window, push notifications are silenced. In-app notifications still appear in the bell badge; they're just not delivered as pings.
Common settings:
- 22:00 to 08:00 — no overnight pings
- No quiet hours — power-users who want alerts at any time
Per-device push toggles
In the device list at the bottom of the page, each registered device can be enabled or disabled independently. Useful when you have both iOS and Android devices and want notifications on one but not the other.
Delivery timing
Push notifications for triggered alerts may take a few minutes to arrive after the condition matches. Filing alerts are event-driven and typically arrive within a minute of NSE/BSE publication.
