The complete filter catalog

Every core screener filter organised by category, with the threshold you'll actually use for each. Bookmark this; reach for it whenever you're building a screen.

The screener has 33 core filters in six categories, documented below with the threshold most users reach for and a short note on what each one filters on. On top of these, a catalog of 327 financial ratios brings the screener to 360 filters in total.

Price & Volume (5)

  • Current Price: absolute price range. Useful for excluding penny stocks or filtering to a buying budget.
  • Price Change %: today's percentage change from previous close. Pair with volume for accumulation/distribution patterns.
  • Volume: absolute traded volume today.
  • Volume vs Average: ratio of today's volume to the 20-day average. >2x is the classic spike threshold.
  • Market Cap: in crores. Common cuts: > 20,000 (large-cap), 5,000–20,000 (mid), < 5,000 (small).

Technical Indicators (10)

  • RSI (14): < 30 oversold, > 70 overbought. Filter to capture mean-reversion candidates.
  • MACD: line value. Positive = bullish bias; negative = bearish.
  • MACD Signal: the 9-day EMA of MACD. Crossovers covered as signals.
  • SMA 20 / 50 / 200: moving averages. Use for trend filtering (price > SMA 200 for uptrend-only).
  • EMA 20: faster trend reference than SMA 20.
  • Bollinger Upper / Lower: volatility envelopes. Touches indicate stretched moves.
  • ATR (14): average true range. Higher = more volatile.

Fundamental Ratios (8)

  • PE Ratio: earnings multiple. Sector-aware: IT is normally higher than banks.
  • PB Ratio: book multiple. < 3 traditionally cheap; < 1 deep value or distressed.
  • ROE: return on equity. > 15% is the quality bar.
  • ROCE: return on capital employed. > 15% consistently signals durable advantage.
  • Debt/Equity: leverage. < 0.5 conservative; > 2 aggressive.
  • Current Ratio: short-term liquidity. > 1.5 healthy.
  • EV/EBITDA: capital-structure-neutral multiple. < 10 cheap.
  • Dividend Yield: income screen. > 3% notable in Indian context.

Performance (8)

Returns over 1D / 1W / 1M / 3M / 6M / 1Y, plus:

  • Distance from 52W High: percent below the 52-week high. < 5% = breakout candidate.
  • Distance from 52W Low: percent above the 52-week low. < 10% = floor candidate.

Filing Signals (2)

  • Filing Category: pick from 15 categories (Board Meeting, Results, Dividend, Acquisition, Buyback, etc.). Returns stocks with a filing in the chosen category.
  • Filing Recency: 7 / 30 / 90 days. Pairs with category to bracket the time window.

Stock Universes (filters, not free-form)

Not technically "filters" but they restrict the candidate pool: Nifty 50, Nifty 100, Nifty 200, Nifty 500, Midcap 150, Smallcap 250, F&O (209), NSE mainboard, BSE mainboard, NSE SME, BSE SME, combined SME.

How filters combine

All filters use AND logic: every condition must pass. Adding filters narrows results. To widen results, drop filters or change to a broader universe. To get OR-logic intersections of conditions, use the signals panel instead.
